Do I need a referral?

A referral is not necessary for any of our services, however if you have one, bring it with you so we can communicate with the referring practitioner.

Do I need to book my appointments?

Yes, booking is essential. To make a booking simply give the clinic a call at a time convenient to you between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday, or 8am and 6pm on Saturday on 9878 5021.

If you cannot attend your appointment for any reason, please call us asap to reschedule.

Please take note that you will still be required to pay for your appointment:

  • If you fail to attend your appointment

Treatments

What should I wear to my appointment?

For Osteopathy sessions, as most treatments will involve getting changed down to your underwear for treatment to be given, your outer layer of clothing is not important. Wear underwear that you will feel comfortable wearing in front of the practitioner. Gowns and towels are used throughout the treatment to maintain modesty.

For Chiropractic sessions, whether or not you will remove your outer clothing depends on the area being treated and the treatment to be given. If your practitioner advises you that sessions will involve you removing some clothing, wear underwear that you will feel comfortable wearing in front of the practitioner. Gowns and towels are used throughout the treatment to maintain modesty.

For core-strengthening sessions, please wear comfortable shorts and a t-shirt.

For Nutritional and Life coaching sessions you will not be required to remove clothing, so feel free to wear anything.

For Acupuncture/ Tradtional Chinese Medicine, you may be required to remove clothing so please wear clothing that you can easily remove if required.

For Massage, as most treatments will involve you removing your clothes down to your underwear, your outer layer of clothing is not important. Towels are used throughout the massage to maintain modesty.

Do I need to bring imaging reports (X-ray, MRI, CT etc) or medical notes with me?

If you have any reports or x-rays/scans it may be helpful if you bring them with you to the appointment.

How long will my initial consultation take?

For Osteopathy, Chiropractic, Nutritional consultations, Traditional Chinese Medcine (TCM), and acupuncture - allow up to an hour for your first visit.

How will I feel after the treatment?

Occasionally, you may be more aware of your symptoms for a short time following treatment. This is due to the release of certain chemicals that make nerve endings very sensitive. This is a normal response to manual therapy and will resolve within 24-48 hours.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments you will need depends on many factors. Following your assessment, the practitioner will discuss the anticipated number of treatments.

Outcome measures introduced from your initial visit will track your progress, and treatment will be varied accordingly to provide you with the best possible results. Often, the best possible care may include referral to, and co-treatment by, another health care practitioner.

Payment

How will I pay for my treatments?

Payment for our services is made in the clinic after each consultation. We accept cash, cheques, credit card (VISA, Mastercard), charge card (American Express) and EFTPOS.

Will my private health fund (MBF/HCF etc) cover part of the payment?

RNHC is equipped with HICAPS facilities, so bring your health fund card with you to each appointment and we can put a claim through to your health fund on the spot. Most health funds pay a partial rebate for our services for those with 'extras' cover. The remaining 'gap' to pay varies depending on your fund and your level of cover.

Are your services covered by Work Cover NSW or the Motor Accident Authority?

Osteopathy and Chiropractic treatments are covered by Work Cover and the MAA. If you have an insurance claim under Work Cover or the MAA please bring your insurer's details and claim number with you to your appointment.
