Clinical Pilates

Discover Pilates® Classes and fees:

Discover Pilates® specialises in equipment-based, small-group clinical Pilates classes. To ensure excellent results for our students we only employ degree-qualified instructors (Physiotherapists) with extensive instructing experience, and each session is tailored to the needs and goals of the individual.

For those with private health cover, all sessions are claimable through your health fund- either as a Physiotherapy sessions (for 1 on 1 sessions), or  as a Physiotherapy group exercise session (for group sessions and classes).

Students may book a class at a time that suits them (what we call a ‘Private Pilates class’), or join one of our timetabled small-group classes (what we call a ‘Studio class’). All studio classes are 1hr in duration. Bookings are essential.

To ensure the quality of each class student numbers are limited, and each student must attend an ‘initial consultation’ (a private class) at which your instructor will discuss with you your needs and goals. For most, a 30 minute initial consultation will suffice. If you have a complex medical or injury history, a 60 minute initial consult is recommended.

Studio classes are held at set times throughout the week, cost $48 per class per student (if paid for casually), or $42 per class per student if the student purchases a block of 10 classes ($420).

Private Pilates classes may be booked for groups of 1 to 4. If you’re interested in private classes, please call clinic reception and ask for a call back from a member of our clinical team to discuss your needs.

Whether you’re looking for a traditional Pilates experience, are preparing for or recovering from birthing, or are recovering from injury or training for a sports competition, you’ll find our team can tailor your class to work towards your specific goals – and you’ll have a great time too!

How to get started:

From experience we know that regardless of your reasons for commencing Pilates, if you learn the basics really really well you’ll achieve better results in the long run. That’s why we insist that every new student attends a 30 or 60 minute, 1 on 1 initial consultation at which your instructor will discuss with you your needs and goals and either teach you the basics (if you are new to Pilates) or or assess where you’re up to (if you’ve done Pilates before). For most, a 30 minute initial consultation will suffice, however if you have a complex medical or injury history, a 60 minute initial is recommended.

For your first class, aim to arrive ten minutes early to to complete some paperwork. You should wear comfortable exercise clothing that lets you move freely, and bring a pair of clean socks with you to wear during the session. Change rooms are available for your use if required.

All Pilates bookings are made via Ryde Natural Health Clinic’s reception desk, so to book your initial consultation please call clinic reception on 9878 5021 and ask to book a ‘Pilates initial consultation’. Otherwise, you can book these consultations online right now! Just press the ‘book online now’ button and follow the prompts.

We look forward to meeting you : )
