Dr. Kuo Jen ‘Hank’ Chen is an experienced and accomplished practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  He has a passion demonstrated by the care he aspires to deliver to each and all of his patients.

Hank completed his Bachelor of Applied Science (Traditional Chinese Medicine) at the University of Western Sydney, followed by a Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2007, and  his PhD in Nanjing, China.

What hank treats:

While patients have sought out Hank’s assistance to treat and manage the symptoms of a range of conditions, he has a particular interest in working with patients with issues related to pain, stress, digestion, fatigue, women’s health and infertility* (both male and female).

*There is some research evidence that Chinese medicine treatment may assist in supporting specific fertility treatments such as IVF, and there is also broad agreement by Chinese medicine practitioners and other health practitioners about acupuncture as an adjunct treatment for IVF.

Many health practitioners may recommend acupuncture as an adjunct treatment that may assist with IVF treatment. There is continuing research about how acupuncture can assist with the effectiveness of IVF treatment and you should consult your treating practitioner/s about how acupuncture may be able to help you.

Hank’s approach:

Hank most commonly uses a mix of traditional acupuncture, cupping, and Chinese herbal medicine, and as needed other traditional Chinese medical interventions such as moxibustion, and Tui Na, or modern options including electro-acupuncture and laser acupuncture.

Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese, Hank prides himself on having a welcoming, gentle** and reassuring style of treatment.

**Chinese medicine is generally considered to be safe but occasionally (as with all health treatments) may be associated with possible adverse reactions in individual cases.
