Dr Hank Chen PhD (TCM)

Kuo Jen ‘Hank’ Chen is an experienced and accomplished practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, who has a lot of success and experience in treating patients with migraines, insomnia, infertility, IVF support, depression and bodily aches and pains. Hank has been practising for eight years, and has completed more than 12 years of study in TCM. After graduating from his Bachelor’s of TCM in 2005, and the Master’s in 2007, Hank travelled to China to undertake a a PhD in Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2010 Hank completed his PhD, and qualified for the doctor’s license in Chinese Medicine.

Hank specialises in the treatment of disorders relating to blockages of the bodies energy, blood or phlegm. Using both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, Hank treats a wide range of conditions such as:

Neurological conditions such as headaches, migraines, difficulty sleeping, nervous tension, stroke, some forms of deafness, facial and intercostal neuralgia, trigeminal neuralgia, some forms of paralysis, peripheral neuropathy, dizziness, and Meniere’s disease.

Gynaecological disorders such as premenstrual tension, painful, heavy or irregular, or the absence of periods, abnormal uterine bleeding or discharge, hormonal disturbances, disorders associated with menopause, prolapse of the uterus or bladder, difficulty with conception, and morning sickness.

Miss Julia Oh (TCM)

Julia is a bright and caring Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner who specialises in Women’s Health and Infertility (both male and female). With her clinical and professional experience built up over the years, she also treats a wide range of conditions such as musculoskeletal, digestive and stress-related disorders.

She completed her study of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Technology, Sydney with high distinctions. She is now undertaking her Masters degree in the field of Oncology, to study how acupuncture can be utilised for the symptom management of cancer patients and improve their quality of life.

Julia is a firm believer that all symptoms of the body are related in some way, and so she likes to comb through and ask about several areas (that may initially seem unrelated) of the patient’s health in order to provide a truly holistic and therapeutically effective treatment. She welcomes patients’ questions regarding their health and takes the time to explain, which is the reason why she also provides 1 hour follow-up treatment sessions for patients who would like the extra time for extensive consultation and treatment.

Her effervescent and compassionate personality makes her very approachable and she looks forward to assisting you and your health with her skills and knowledge.

Acupuncture Fees

Your initial TCM and Acupuncture consultation is only $110. This initial consultation includes your first treatment and will usually last up to sixty minutes in duration. Your practitioner will utilise the time in your initial consult to discuss the history of your condition or health concerns, carry out a series of Traditional Chinese Medical tests, explain the goals of treatment and answer any questions you may have.

Standard 30 minute follow-up consultations are $80.

Longer 60 minute follow-up consultations are $110.
